What to do about never getting a subpoena then having to turn myself in then bail out of jail?

so i guess i had to show up in court but i never was sent a subpoena or anything telling me i had to do so. so long story short there was a warrant out in my name so i turned myself in and shortly bailed out. but is there anything i can do to get my money back or sue?? anything?? how can they do that without someone knowing they had to appear in court??
