CAN I CHANGE MY ATT PHONE TO STRAIGHT TALK?

i have an existing service with straight talk. my mother in law gave me her old phone when she upgraded. can i switch my service and number to the other phone? the reason i need to is bc my straight talk phones battery wont stay charged. also hers is a better touch phone ;)
