I live on long island and the nys attorney generals office is asking me to travel to syracuse and answer?

questions in front of a grand jury as a expert witness. i will lose at least a days pay not to mention the cost of travel how do i either get out of this or at least be reimbursed for the lost money they say they will subpoena me if i don't volunteer to go
