I got a subpoena for a case i know nothing about...?

Alright well i was a victim of a random act of vileness where i was chased with a deadly weapon.. Well the people that chased me are witness to a case where a young male died. Does the court have a right to subpoena me to court to talk about when i was chased, even though there is no relation in the cases? I have no relationship to the young male that died nor did a hear about this until an investigator called me. I feel bad that someone died but it has nothing to do with me so is it possible to get out of this subpoena? plus i have an important job interview at the same time the subpoena says..
