All of the emails in my inbox dates prior to May 15, 2011 have disappeared?

about a month ago my att yahoo service via DSL was discontinued and I now get my email via att U-Verse. Both my wife and I have lost all the emails with dates prior to May 15. How can I get these emails restored?
